Clock using recycled pallet timber
Latest woodworking effort, at request by my D-i-L for her Kindy classroom. Had to be made from recycled material, the rougher the better, so got hold of a pine pallet that had seen some hard yards, cut it up into 5 boards of varying thickness, jointed one side (the rear surface) and the edges, glued the edges together. Timber is 12mm thick, used Domino floating tenons for the edge joints, don't want the thing falling apart and landing on some 2 year old.
Got some timber numbers for Spotlight ($3) , epoxy glued them on, now ready for first of two coats of oil, and then off it goes to Kindy later this week. Rough and recycled it certainly is, apparently that helps with accreditation.

Yes, I know - the number 6 is not properly aligned. That's what happens when your fingers are covered in Aralydyteregards,

Here is one of my earlier efforts which led to the Kindy clock project. Made of 10mm thick radiata pine, WA jarrah, and Meranti timbers. 5 x 20mm hardwood stiffener inlaid across the back to keep the clock flat over time.
