    Default Have a peek

As promised some piccys for those that like to peek.

If any of you happen to be in my part of the world I would enjoy a chat and a cuppa tea etc....

    So peek away and enjoy

Feel free to ask any questions you like, I will endeavour to answer them.

Theres a few typos in the captions, will fix them when I'm more awake.

Thank you for the show and tell.

I hope to take you up on that offer of a cuppa one day.

There is some speculation as to whether I'll be keeping it or not, depending on complaints, none yet though!

I'd like to thank the person who created it. I stole (Borrowed) it from another forum!

    Cool

Back to the original post - had some trouble with the 2nd page, but just wanted to mention the chip collection on the thicknesser. I'm impressed with the concept. Very simple, and I'm guessing very effective.

It goes without saying that it must be mounted high enough that it clears the outfeed. Did you have to modify the chip feeder to allow clearance, or were you able just to secure it in place?

I now know without a doubt what is the next mod I'm doing to my shed!

BTW, definitely approve of the Highlander quote!

"Forgive me Father, I, am a worm....."
"Nuns - no sense of humour"

I could keep going for hours!

The only thing with the tube was to make the slot in it sufficently wide enough to get the chip chute through to the wall inside the tube , thus allowing the greatest amount of shavings to pass through.

This had the added effect of automatically raising the tube height so outfeed clearance wasnt imoeeded. On smaller stock 15mmm or less there is a little bit of clearance loss but the tube and ali mounts are flexible enuff for this to not be a problem.

The endcap for the tube..I'll have to post a piccy , is a lid from a Pams Salad dressing bottle. The one litre jar if memory serves

BTW the tube is 80mm Marley downpipe. It attaches to the dust colleceter via a standard marley connection pipe, you know the type...has a flaired end for fitting further pipes.

It works extremely well. It also is a design I found right here original on these forums and is pretty well a direct copy.
    Heres the thread

I must apologise for the typos with the piccys...it was very late at night and the brain was starting to fade :P

Oh and the cost to build this addon was $2.65...and I had to eat the Salad Dressing first
