Rocking horse in silver ash, jarrah and blackwood
Here is a rocking horse that I made for my sister's grandchildren in England. It is from a design in Norm's book The New Yankee Workshop. It will be sent flat-packed for assembly over there.

Nice work Rocker, I'm sure the little pommy jockeys will enjoy recreating races at Royal Ascot, or will it be used for fox hunting - Tally-Ho
what finish did you use?If I do not clearly express what I mean, it is either for the reason that having no conversational powers, I cannot express what I mean, or that having no meaning, I do not mean what I fail to express. Which, to the best of my belief, is not the case.

Slavo,
Unfortunately, fox-hunting is now illegal in the UK.
I have not applied any finish, since all the countersunk screw-holes will need to be plugged before the finish is applied.
Zed, Oges and others who wish to make one,
I should mention that there are two crosspieces that are set in dadoes on the inner faces of the sides. The sides are splayed at an angle of 12.5° from the vertical. The cross pieces and the back/front of the saddle are splayed backwards and forwards 15° from the vertical. When I took the photo, I had not drilled the holes in the sides for the screws that hold the sides to the crosspieces.

Great work and a good choice of timbers.

"If a man is after money, he's money mad; if he keeps it, he's a capitalist; if he spends it, he's a playboy; if he doesn't get it, he's a never-do-well; if he doesn't try to get it, he lacks ambition. If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."
