Scraps of Timber
Hi all , not long started teaching at a new school and they had all sorts of off cuts that were cloging up the timber store.
i thought i would try and inspire the year 8/9 students to use some in filler projects. Not quite sure how it has worked on the students however i have now become very popular with the staff wanting to know what am i going to do with them at the end of term.
cheers
Hagrid

Thank you Wongdai
The chopping block is Vic ash and Jarrah (i think ) when i got to the school there was a heap of old weathered roof trusses outside that had been there for 5 years so a parent had brought them in after pulling down some for extensions. I wanted to show the students how they could still be used.
The multi colored one is just stuff in the store room. a bit of silver ash and vic ash. also same red stuff/jarrah from outside. The other is Blackwood.
cheers

Scrap wood
Your students look like competition winners . Probably comes down to the excellent tutoring. Projects look great. (If Only I could do as well I think I'll join your class).

i use this as a quick project for my yr8 students to be able to take home something for others than themselves. my students and i for that matter get a lot out of someone wanting something that has been fully hand made.
