Default Simple & small wine rack

We needed a rack to store some wine that lives in a cupboard.

This was the quickest & easiest rack I could come up with. It's made of scrap I had lying around & a couple of bits of 100 X 100mm mesh. Not much to it, just drill some holes & butt jointed using biscuits.

It only holds 40 bottles! Where am I gonna put the other 100+ bottles
    Cheers

Don't worry Major, I'll be right over with a glass to help you sort out those 100+ bottles

Well I can't understand why people have wine racks. You buy wine, take it home and drink it, no need for storage. If you buy more than one bottle, you drink them, if you drink too many, save it until tomorrow and then drink it. Who needs storage.

Has anyone ever built a wine rack for the cardboard casks I ask?

But seriously your rack is a nice simple design, I might pinch it.

You really need to pick up the pace Maj. Wine isn't for storing, it's for drinking copious quantities there of. If you spent more time on the bottle and less on the tools, you wouldn't have this problem (*hic*)
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

Cant quite read the labels to decide if tommorrow would be too soon to consume. How about a stock list? Then we can decide what days we want to come on!

ps best designs are the simple ones, any troubles from different neck heights experienced? Or are these the ones you drank already?

Well I guess for a nominal surcharge I could let you store 'em at my house. Of course I may forget how many you brought over and you know how wine can mysteriously evaporate too

Nice work though mate, nice simple solution.

S'OK Major, I can make it for him and I'll be a great help to you in the consumption of excess liquids.

PS I'll bring a couple of nice steaks to BBQ.

    Hey Jacko,

90% of the stuff is from the Rutherglen.

I just averaged the neck heights of the bottles on hand.

Sorry. I don't see the problem

    A very functional design.

    A nice elegant piece.
Is the mesh fitted in holes at every wire end?

    G'day Echnidna,

Yup, simple stuff, the mesh is on EXACTLY 100mm centers. I made it even simpler by cutting off the very corner ends.

    Very nice Major.

I think it's good that you're letting the wine age a bit, last month's vintage tastes very nice now.
