Default Storage cabinet WIP (and Forum hats!)

If you're looking for fine craftsmanship here, suggest you hit your Back Button and browse on. This is the fourth of 6 cabinets commissioned by my aunt for her new condo. It will be the third of 3 base cabinets filling an entire wall in her sun room.

The cabinet itself is approx. 750mm wide X 1000mm tall X 450mm deep. The sides are held to the top and bottom shelves with loose tenons (Domino). All pretty routine. But she had asked if I could build-in something to hold her largish platters and trays, so I thought there might be some interest there. Here is what I came up with:

The dividers are 6mm ply set in trenches in an 18mm base. They are held upright by a 6mm backing piece which is glued and pinned. The left side is 18mm ply simply butt joined to the module with glue and brads, as it faces no lateral forces to speak of. The small shelf to the left is floating on shelf pins (so as to be adjustable). There will be another full-length shelf above the dividers. The module is constructed so it just sits on the bottom shelf secured by 2 screws and no glue, to facilitate removal at a later time if desired. Holes for shelf pins extend down on the right so if removed a full-length shelf can be installed.

The face frame, also loose tenons, is leaning against the cabinet awaiting its turn for installation.

I built a similar divider for my own kitchen and it works a treat. Any criticism welcome.

More importantly, notice my new Forum hats, courtesy of Neil. A regular one for the shed and a Foilies for working at remote job sites where They might be lurking.
    Cheers,

    Bob

I find that these are the sort of projects that keep coming up and getting in the way of more interesting work. Looking forward to seeing it installed in its resting place.

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

Thank you. My sentiments exactly. As soon as any family finds out you can "make stuff" they are all over you.
    Cheers,

Sounds like a good source of funding for some nice wood for more interesting projects.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

    Bob,

At least your family are local. I have to send my stuff to England. But I have to say that it is worth it
