Default Thankyou gift for a fellow Woody

Knocked up this little mallet today as a thankyou gift for a woodturning aquaintence, who kindly thought of me when he was forced to get rid of some sandalwood. Apparently he had a fairly severe adverse reaction when he tried to turn some of this timber...so he was reluctently forced too off load all the sandalwood he had.

hopefully now that the timber is finished he wont have anymore reaction to it. . Though I spose it could just hang in his shed and look pretty

finished with Organoil,EEE and traditional wax

Yes, nice one BD. Great grain in the head and handle. With the oil and wax he may be able to use though. Well done.

    cheers fellas

Great grain in the head and handle
    .

I thought so too...I was very plesantly suprised when I had finished turning the handle to see the fiddle back (or what ever you call it) type grain patterns...very nice . I hope the rest of it is as nice

On top of that, working this stuff has to create one of the most pleasant smells in woodworking.... IMHO

    cheers
