TV stand
G’day mates
Made it last autumn, just before they “closed” for the winter.
Designed by my wife.
3 separate units, 1 Meter each, not connected so we can change.
Oak 25mm.
Joinery, dowels.
Finish, 5 layers mat varnish applied with homemade foam brush.
The rest was woodworking, pleasure and only I know the mistakes.
Thank you for looking.

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

That looks awesome. I have absolutely no idea how to even start on stuff like that. I am good at sanding slabs though.

Thank you all for the compliments

As much as she wants me to make them, I’m happy to make them. It’s pure pleasure for me.

Its difficult, I’m buying usually 1 cubic meter for about 600 USD, which includes, cutting to thickness, drying (3 months), planing both faces and one side.
Taking into account that 40~45% is unusable, increases the cost to around $1000.
For this unit I used 0.2 cubic meters (if no mistake) so, the wood costs around $200, but that’s in Poland.

You are still young, when you will join the 60+ club, you will LOVE the separate units.
Even this 1 meter unit was heavy to play with (for me)

The vase is from Okinawa, from the good old times that I was working in Japan.
Not cheap, $350, but “we” (majority of one) wanted it so much. (pic)

My father use to tell me “if you don’t know where to start from, start from the beginning”.
Just jump to cold water (that’s what I did 10 years ago). .

Ditto for all the previous comments plus a greenie . $1000/cube is cheap in Oz but I guess it has to be related to some of the other costs in your country .
PeterI've just become an optimist . Iv'e made a 25 year plan -oopps I've had a few birthdays - better make that a 20 year plan
