I’ve started the Queen size bed
Well I think it was Harry that told me to try some thing harder well this is about as hard as I can do at the moment I got the design out of the woodsmith mag with a few changes to the panels. The bed head is all but finished the bed posts are myrtle as are the raised panels the arch, styles and rails are Tas oak. I made a couple of stuff ups as per usual when I cut the arch I forgot about allowing for the biscuits in the join so I cut a 3mm thick strip and glued over the top of the arch and used a round over bit to hide the join it worked really well you can hardly see the join. All up it has taken two weeks to get to this stage just a bit more sanding and then put the finish on. Then the foot board and base

Robbie,
Bed end looks awesome . Also looks like it will survive a nuclear attack, there will be some weight in that baby when its done. What are you going to finish it with. I love the myrtle panels.
CorbsIt's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Thats looking really nice Robbie. I am jealous of you being in Tassie with all that Myrtle. You must be itching to get the first coat of finish on, it will look awesome when you do.
What finish are you going to use?I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Hi Robbie,
Like everyone else said, beautiful work. Can't wait to see it complete and with a finish on it.
That Myrtle is going to be special.

Cobs I’m not sure what finish might see if someone has a spray gun and put a lacquer on.
Wendy the only thing that hits me is the miss but I usually deserve it. The myrtle will look really good when finished.
Graham I haven’t thought that far a head just concerned with getting the bed head and foot board completed first.
Matrix they are locking a lot of myrtle up in conservation areas now so it may get hard to find in the future so the bloke at the saw mill was saying.
Yes Harry it was a major challenge for me the rest should be a down hill run now.
Yes Pops I can’t wait to put the finish on but that’s my problem I rush too much so I’ve slowed down and it’s working out better for me and my project.Robbie

Those curves look very cunningly done so that all the frame joints are straight, is that right?
Look forward to more pics...Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.
