My first woodcarving.
Hi,
I started to take woodwork lessons a month ago.
In the course we have two hours each day to practice woodcarving and I decided to make a doll for my girlfriend.
Here are some pictures of this doll, my first woodcarving.
I used some chisels and other tools but I used a knife most of the time.

Looks very good . How big , what wood did you use and how did you hold the piece during carving

Good work.....especially for your first project. Is this finished or are you going to add features to the face as well?

Visit my spoon making tutorial...still in progress...
Spoons...better than chopsticks but harder to make.

Hi, thanks for your comments.
Peter36, I have attached a picture showing its size (around 26 cm). I used pine wood because the teacher didn't want to "waste" any other wood for a beginner. I have been holding it with one hand while carving with a knife with the other hand but sometimes I put it on a workbech, held by the head, to work with chisels or a dremel when I needed to use both hands to hold the tools and do more presure than with only one hand against the other.
Spoon Man, I am still thinking about the face features. I don't know what to do but I know I will tint some parts of the doll with natural tints. Mainly the hair and the dress, leaving the natural color of the wood for the skin.
