I wonder if they'd have to be registered here in Oz?

When the firearm laws were updated to cover "replicas" I had a very expensive argument withg the local constabulary about my daughter's water-pistol (it didn't have a dayglo red plug in the "barrel"), a pair of pewter flintlock pistols mounted to plaques on the wall and a wooden "lacquer-band" .22 rifle I'd made.

Another black mark on my record and 4-figure fines. Unregistered firearms, unlicensed for pistols, rah, rah, rah. Pathetic, isn't it?

    G'day Skew,

And you know what? My a/riffle has not yet beeen inspected since it was registered over a year ago to see if it's stored properly. And it's not a simple a/rifle either.

    (that'll stir an argument )

Yeah, saw the guns on the collectors show and thought what craftsmanship.

Skew, is that only Vic? I didn't think those would be a problem here.

I wonder if he rifles the barrels? Did you see some of the casses have been fired?

    G'day,

It's a target air riffle and packs quite a punch - through 0.5mm steel. 10 pumps and the pellet travels at 710ft per second.

But it's more surprising that the cops haven't come knocking especially since the thing at Monash Uni a few years ago with some kid and a gun and how the cops say things have tightened up and they want to ensure all guns are stired safely and securely.

I don't know, to be honest. Back then, when the laws had just been introduced, the police were going out of their way to set examples.

Waldo, not bad for a air gun but still not as lethel as a kitchen knife. In the UK and I think New Zealand air guns including pistols are not concidered firearms and don't require a licence, also they are more accepting of silences too.

The fact remains, that 97% of all statistics are made up, yet 87% of the population think they are real.
