Default It got a little windy here in Moomba.

There were 12 people in the shack with the wind sock on it at the time when the rig blew over.It came down with a hell of a bang so I have been told.It was lucky the shack was where it was.

Reminds me of the only time I went to Moomba, 30+ years ago. We'd had trouble at Innaminka, so had to drive to Moomba during a storm to use the phone (no phone at Innaminka then, just RFDS radio which we didn't want to use).
When we went into the rec hall at Moomba, there were battered & bloodied blokes lying everywhere. We thought they must have had a pretty decent blue, but it turned out four of them had been sitting outside a caravan playing cards, the fifth had been inside, when a sudden storm hit & blew the caravan over on the blokes outside.

Steve, do they still have watch-throwing contests to relieve the boredom?

Given the current safety regime up there now,to throw anything could lead to a warning letter.

There was no wind gust...what youre looking at is a new generation rig designed for drilling horizontal wells.

You still stuck in Moomba Steve? Busy here fishing logging tools.
Whatever note you blow youre never more than a semitone away from the correct one....(Miles Davis)

I take it that Moomba isn't a tourist destination?
