    Default Mobile phone problem

I left my mobile off over xmas and then when I went to use it flat battery.

Problem is now it won't charge, Nokia 6600 with a BL-5C Lithium Ion.

Ok so the battery is old, bought a new one, genuine Nokia.

Same thing won't charge at first then did manage to get it to start. Made the mistake of turning it on and my son rang me on it. Result was it discarged and died again. Now it refuses to charge again.

Did some searching and found a ref to the battery being a Smartbattery that needs some charge to let the phone to recognise it before it charges.

Ok thought I could get some charge into it with my microprocessor charger, a Swallow, made for LiPos. Set it up and got an error saying overvoltage on the cells. Couldn't find my multimeter as the son as borrowed it.

Has anyone had and similar probs or thoughts on this? Can take it too a repairer next week when the get back from hols but it's just a bleeding battery.........

The swallow should do it but you need to findout how many cells are in the battery and its rating. Be careful as I have seen a good video of a lipo exploding when deliberately overcharged.

    It's a 3.7V so must be a single cell, rated at 800mamps.

Set this up on the swallow but no luck, not really sure which terminals as there are 3.

Won't play to much as I know what these things can do when angered.

The problem Benny, is that you are using your own gear.
You should only ever use your employer's techo stuff - computers, phones, DVDs etc.
