    Default A time to reflect

I picked this up on another forum i visit and below is how the poster submitted his post. I found it a very moving and fitting tribute to the men and women who fought for our freedom.

It's getting near that time of the year when many of us start thinking of those who died in conflict in order that we could have the freedom that we enjoy.

This year, the hurt will be a lot more recent for many, from just about all the countries represented by posters here.

I'll post this song up now - if you get a chance, stop typing and have a listen.

On that 11th day I always remember.

In particular my grandfather who was a pow in germany for 2 yrs after capture on the french fields. Like many he was silent about it but after he died we found his diary which had precious few entries. 2 of the entries always move me.

I also like to read C J Dennis "Ginger Mick" from the 1914 pocket edition that my great uncle Tom carried with him thru europe.
