Had a big Brown Snake (male) slither through the shed week before last, came within a foot of me and kept right on going.

Sure got the heart pumping!

Early spring, warm day and out they come.

Here's a shot of his girlfriend (taken through a window!)

Looks like a Cunningham skink. We have heaps of them ranging up to 400mm long. When I was camped in their shed one summer they got quite friendly and would eat out of my hand. Never seen a snake anywhere near where the lizards live - perhaps there is an invisible sign "reptiles already in residence - no further vacancy". Sure suits me!!

You are not wrong with the heart pounding bit, Makes you stand real still, almost to the point of dumping some snake repellent down the trouser leg.

That rasping sound they make as they race across the concrete sends shivers down my spine.

I went to my shed last night to have a possum sitting in the doorway. I don't like them as they stink.

This is my recent shed visitor. I nearly put my hand on him on the bench. Lucky I had the gloves handy to remove him.

When I was a kid we used to hunt possums for the fur, true the little blighters have a good bite. But worst of all they tend to pee when cornered, many a time I have been caught with a treed possum letting go.

Yep, once you have been sprayed with possum pee you never forget it, smelly blighters. Much prefer skinks.

The lizard is not starving by the look of it Corbs, must be plenty of tucker in your shed for him.
