    Default Router fence for tsc10hb

As you may know, the tsc10hb from carbatec perth now comes with a router wing, or as LesMeyer did, a router wind in addition to the standard table wings...

Anyways, I have been making a few jigs the last few days, the first being the attachment to allow me to attach my Triton mini sliding table to the tsc10hb ( thanks Sturdee). Next was the crosscut sled (thanks Rocker and Sturdee!).

Lastly was a router fence. Now Sturdees fence was no good to me in this case, because I wasnt using the Triton router table. I could still have used the table saw fence as a basis for mounting a fence on top (like Sturdee's), but this would mean I wouldnt be able to use the mitre grooves.

Anyway, I figured I could use the existing holes in the table to build a fence that could be bolted down, but be able to slide back and forth (in a limited way). I also wanted to include dust extraction and and have the fence adjustable around the router bit.

In the end I came up with the following design. I think it is fairly self explanatory. As much as I admire Sturdees knobs, I couldnt be bothered making them and luckily Timbecon recently got some in stock and I utilise these to allow the two front sections of fence to be able to slide back and forth.

The dust extraction consists of a triton hose connector which has been inserted into a piece of mdf which then connects into a box made out of perspex.

Thats the basic details, if anyone is interested in more info I will go into further details. I only just gave this its first test run and it worked like a dream

I am quite enjoying making jigs now

    cheers

Well Done. For me there is nothing more satisfying than making a jig or fixture, using it and finding out that it works well or sometimes, even better than I expected.

That is a great fence. Simple and effective.
Do you mind if I copy the design.
    One question:
It seems to be the wrong side of the router bit. Do you have to lean over the whole length of the saw to work? Maybe I am misreading the picture?

It only takes one drink to get me loaded. Trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or fourteenth.

You are quite welcome to copy the design.

To use the fence, I have to stand to the back of the tablesaw, so that the fence is now on my right hand side. The router bit is then spinning towards me and pushing the timber into the fence. I think thats how its supposed to work?

Its not quite viewable, but in the picture on the front of the fence you can see a switch box I have mounted. This makes life much easier as well.

I have only done one test cut so far and works correctly for me and its easy and comfortable to use, more so than my old triton table (I reckon anyway )

I have a dust extraction hose mounted onto the router (a triton router) and to my dust collection box. No dust was escaping at all.

    Hope that makes sense.

    cheers
