G'day Sprog,
Not yet anyway - mid 2006 they will be. But far from a darkside peecee, the chips coming out on a Mac you won't see on a peecee.

Grunt, thanks for the tip. I just downloaded 'fastone'. What a great interface, should make picture management a piece of cake.
I would rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

12th September 2005, 03:03 PM #19No mate you want my gear, a G5 with 2.25 Gb of RAM, a 23" High Definition digital display running stuff like PhotShop CS, FastStone looks like a imitation to P/Shop. And I don't want to show off too much. Besides I'm sure your woodie skill are better tah n mine.
FastStone is just a simple image view with basic image manipulation capabilities. It is just easy to use. It is not meant to compete with Photoshop etc.Photo Gallery

G'day Grunt,
None of the above. I use my Macs to run my grpahic design studio.
Sprog, they'll both stay. If you're comparing: a peecee is a GMC and a Mac is Festool or Dewalt.

- Mac = GMC. Good design, good overall quality, limited addons, spoiled by incorporating chunks of plastic in important spots...

G'day,
Each to their own, but Macs are more industry specific.
But one thing you have to envy, is no viruses exist for Macs.

G'day Sprog,
True, the user bse is smaller - predominantly used in advertising / design / TVC production industry.
The architecture of the OS has a lot to do with it too. But I know stuff all about that - just how to make it work and make it pay the bills and for more tools in the shed.

G'day Grunt,
I got that wrong, I shouldn't say don't exist - last I had one was back in '95.
I posted similar like you did with the link warning guys of the same and the geeks there told me malware isn't a "virus" - but I'm not ignorant to the threat and have Virex installed on my machines.

I've never used a Mac, so I do not know if you can manipulate files the same way as you can with a PC. If you can, and you have the equivalent of Windows Explorer, then I can show you how to manipulate the size of files using a word processor, such as Word. I do this all the time, and can reduce a 2 Mb file down to 40 Kb without any noticeable loss of quality. I won't bother boring you with the details if it is irrelevant. Let me know.
Regards from Perth
