A fellow is wanting to build a gazebo with an inscribed diameter of 16' for an 8 sided structure.

How long should each side be?

Default WOODWORKING QUIZ ANSWER for 9 Sept 04

    Good Evening Friends,
What, no mathematicians in the crowd?
Well here is the answer anyway.
the length of sides with an inscribed diameter of 1 ft. for an 8 sided polygon will be 4.9705". So for a structure with a 16' diameter would be 6' 7 9/16" in length for each side segment.

    Respectfully,
