Domino questions to ask?
Hi all. Looks like I am convincing myself to buy the Domino, for making projects for home (and I just enjoy making woodwork items), and since I have never used one before, need to know what I should ask the dealer or what things I should be aware of when purchasing/using it. I have watched countless videos and read the online tool review, but as usual, it's never the same until you have one in your hands and use it that you find you wished you'd asked certain questions/details etc about it before you buy. So in that vein, any info appreciated.

Hotchips,
Guess you have decided to buy- so you don't really need advice.
But check out the extras. I purchase the extra systainer (box) with different sizes of dominoes and the different cutters. it may be cheaper to do it that way than buy them separately later.
On the other hand, the 2 plastic attachments that I purchased have never been used.

OTOH, I use the two plastic attachments regularly. Depends on how you intend to work with it I reckon. I tend to work off the pins for spacing, but pencil markers won't care.
Cheers,

I noticed your in New Zealand, like myself. Go see the guys at Robertson and Sinclair, tell them your seriously interested in the Domino but would like to try it first. See if you can use their demo domino before you make your decision.
Also you'd be a fool not to buy the full package with all the accessories and the systainer full of dominoes/bits as mention by Carry Pine. You never know when you may need to use one of those accessories when you building something. I use the accessories frequently to get the job done.

Thanks Guys
Kordes, yes I popped in there (R&S) the other week as its very close. I will ask for a hands on if possible. And taking advice it appears best to get the lot all at once. Just alot of $$$...I assume now the old style domino with the pins is not available, does it really make that much difference compared to the new version? For what I'll be doing, -mainly home projects not commercial work, I trust it'll do what I want.

As far as I know I think the hamilton branch may still have one with pins, but best to check with R&S on that. Just specify that you would prefer the old model with pins.
