New to Festools
Howdy y'all,
No I am not a yank. I have just joined the ranks of Festool with the purchase of a Kapex. I haven't really used it yet apart from trying it out, and I am very impressed. The first cut I did was bang on for square. the machine is very quiet (for a power tool) and it is very compact. I researched SCMS's for a while and was impressed with the Makita and Bosch. The Bosch though was 1100 mm from front to back at full extension. My bloody bench is only 760 deep!! I would have had to cut a hole in the shed wall for that.
But I am very pleased with the Kapex and can't wait to use it properly. There is a slight problem though. My Vax vacuum cleaner nozzle is the same diameter as the dust port on the Kapex - where can I get an adaptor?

hi fritz and welcome to the forum.
try bunnings for the adapter, or go to your local godfreys store, they specialize in vacuums and will have all types and sizes of adapters.
regards, justin.

Congratulations on your purchase, for the accessory for your vaccuum i have attached the link from the festool website below

Only thing you miight have a drama with isgetting them to match with your existing hose if the ribbing is different. For the kapex it is important to get the hose end to go over the port rather than in the port to maximise effeciency.
Other option you might have is to go into Godfreys store & try get a match....
Also make sure your warranty form is filled out otherwise you will only get 1 year warranty instead of 3

I use short lengths of clear plastic tubing with the right internal diameter to create adapters such as this.
I use a specialised hose shop to get the tubing.

Hi Fritz,Welcome to the forum, in the meantime get a piece of bicycle tubing and hook the vax up to ya Kapex.
it 'll get you going until a permanant situation lends itself.

G'day and welcome Fritz . Festool is wonderful stuff - I've upgraded most of my power tools and am very pleased, although the $$$ are something of a worry. My son will inherit the best set of tools in the street.
