Default Who has a RTS or DTS 400 ?

If you have one or teh other machine, or their immediate predecessors ...

How useful do you find the machine?

If you could only have one, which would it be ?
the RTS 400 with the 80 x 130mm pad, or
    the DTS 400 with 100 x 150mm triangular pad

is one better than the other for getting into two-way edge to edge corners (of course the trangular pad will be better for three-way corners)

    thanks

I do not have either machine, but I have the DX93 which is the cousin to the DS400 triangular pad.

FWIW, I had been using a 1/4 sheet finishing sander for edge sanding where two-way joints meet and not very satisfied (not a Festo sander, though). My research led me to look at the triangular pad detail sanders. I chose the DX over the 400 simply because of the extra reach you get with the pad out front--gets into tighter places. With a slat sanding pad, you can even sand louvred shutters and the like. Just finshed using it to sand a chair in preparation for refinishing and I must say it was everything I had hoped for. So now, if I could only have one, I would keep my DX and toss my 1/4 sheet.

    Just my two bob's worth.
    Cheers,

    Bob

A RTS 400 can easily be rebuild into a DTS 400 with some spare parts and vice versa. So with a little bit extyra you can use both...

    Hi,

I have a DTS400. It is a wonderful little sander. It is very light which makes overhead jobs very easy. In corners it does the job and you can reach pretty much what you need. I use it on wood and also on plaster wall ( for corners ). As always with Festool, the air stays clean. If anything the CT22 which i have has got too much power for the DTS22 which tends to "hop arround" especially on plaster. The trick is to use minimal suction.

    A must have tool.
