Safe way to cut Domino tenons?
I have run out of 8x 40 Festool Domino floating tenons in the middle of a job, thought I had another packet, but they turned out to be 6x 40
I do have some 8 x50 floating tenons, so am looking for a safe way to cut 10mm off the length of these.
Can anyone please suggest a nice safe method of doing this?regards,
Dengy

Got it !!
I checked up on a post I did many years ago about cutting some 5 mm dowels in half, and got the idea to make up a jig out of scrap 25mm thick pine that would take 4 only 50mm long floating tenons at a time, and use the bandsaw to cut 10mm off the length of each.
The shortened tenons were removed easily, and the next batch of 4 used to push the off cuts out of the jig.

Couldnt you clamp them in a vice, and use the jaws as a cutting guide?
Would it be possible to fit one end of the tenon and then run the part through the table or mitre saw? This way you have something substantial to hold.…..Live a Quiet Life & Work with your Hands

I just use the band saw. I clamp 4 or 5 together and they're done with no danger to fingers.

I have trimmed many a domino using a cross cut sled on the tablesaw.

I use the bandsaw.
I put the fence to the left of the blade, 8-10 mm away and simply pass the dominos through. You're holding onto 40mm of wood so it's pretty safe, but if you're unsteady a fence and stop on the mitre gauge would work well.
