1/4 Drill Rod or someting along those lines
Hi guys I am working on a new belt driven CNC project and what I am trying to source is some drill rod for a couple of shafts.
Is anyone aware of any place in Brisbane that stocks 1/4 at all I am only looking for a couple of pieces 700mm in length.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Blackwoods stock 6.34mm 316 stainless rod in 1m lengths. It's cold drawn so it'll be as dimensionally accurate as it's possible to get without grinding, plus it'll be quite rigid and will resist corrosion.
Alternatively, try your local saw sharpening firms. These often stock HSS and carbon steels for making cutting blades and can probably get drill rod from their suppliers.

Blackwood also sell silver steel in both metric and Imperial sizes, silver steel is the same as what they call drill rod in the US.
Not cheap though, from memory around the $20 for a metre length in 6.35mm It is however ground to size so is very accurate.
