Have you tried coming in from the right have side?
    Are the bottom legs extendable?
How far do you need to move the right cupboard to get the brake pedal out?
Could you bolt the left cupboard down without brake pedal. Put the lathe on the cupboards. Bolt the left side loosely. Lift the right side and slide the cupboard right far enough to fit the pedal? The right side wont be heavy.

Good to hear it is home safe and sound.
I have used my crane in from the end to lift my lathe. You might have to move it out from the wall a bit though.

Sparkie, that crane looks a lot like mine, except mine's a 3 tonner (in theory). I can straddle my stand from the end. I have to because there's a shelf where your brake is. In fact I've just been moving it tonight. But that crane of yours may not be wide enough. Anyway, sounds like you have a solution. Glad you didn't get impatient and do something risky.

    Edit: Oops, too slow!

Thanks a million guys I must have been having a blond moment
Funny thing was there was my neighbour and my wife there as well and none of us saw the solution
As soon as I saw the posts I raced out and had that lathe mounted in twenty minutes.
You have no idea what it feels like to see it sitting there in its finished position and I did it by myself.(with some help from you guys)
The more someone else tries to help the more frustrated I get.
Now to head over to the levelling thread and get educated.......Thanks again!

Its a relief to "land it" isn't it? lol

You'll find leveling is a religious experience, many different ways, many different opinions, of course mine is the right way!

    +1 for pictures,
