Where can I get these T - Bolts
HI ALL,
Does Anyone know of where I could Buy some of the T-Bolts in the Pictures. They are for My Tool & Cutter Grinder in the Picture. I have some of them, but I would like to get 6 - 8 more. The Shank is 1/2" so BSW or UNC. The width at the Base at the Flats is 24mm and the Base is 1/4" thick.
Thanks in Advance. All The Best steran50 Stewart

Try Keables in Melbourne or your local "Bolt Bloke" should be able to get them for you.

Bryan,
Surely that can't be right, that would make them ~$31 EACH!
Or am I living in the dark ages??

HI,
Thanks Guys, I have Emailed a Couple of them. I can make them if I have to, but if the Price is ok I will Buy them. If they end up being anything like $31.00 each I will certainly be making them. All The Best steran50 Stewart

Do not bother getting any of them...
Make some T-nuts instead...Light red, the colour of choice for the discerning man.

R.C has a good point
wonder if u can buy a tee nut as a standard item in that size (or at least very close to).
Assume these would have to be hardenedwww.lockwoodcanvas.com.au

I bought two bags of different lengths of t bolts and a heap of the flanged nuts and thick washers off a bloke on Ebay ,I tried to find if he is still on Ebay but couldn't find him .When I buy something on Ebay , I generally save the seller in case I want more of the same item later ,I have afew that have no items on ther Bay at the moment ,he is probably one of them.
They certainly weren't any where near 31.00 each .
Ill llok through my buying history and see if I can find him.

Look very similar to car wheel studs, could perhaps get some standard (as opposed to racing) wheel studs for maybe an old ford/holden/chrysler/valiant/other american tank, and put two flats on them. Available new from various places, or find someone with a stash of old car parts. Make sure they're RH thread though, quite a few older cars had LH thread studs on the left of the car
Assuming, of course, you can find something that used 1/2" UNC wheel studs with the right dimensions elsewhere on the stud.... The options would open up greatly if you were prepared to go metric (in which case I may have been able to help you out, too.)

Here's an ebay supplier..
MILLING MACHINE T-BOLTS 1/2-13 X 3 5/8" WITH HEX NUTS LOT OF 6 NEW | eBay
MILLING MACHINE T-BOLTS 1/2-13 x 2 1/4" WITH HEX NUTS LOT OF 4 NEW | eBay
Certainly not $31 each, but for high tensile in small quantity, not totally surprised..
Regards
Ray

HI ALL,
Thanks for the Reply's Guys. I tried B.J. Bearings in Bairnsdale - Peter thought He could get them, but they ended up only being T-Nuts and Studs that their Supplier could Supply. These T-Bolts https://www.bolt.com.au/bolts-tee-bo...1011_1072.html are Called Armstrong T-Slot Bolts https://www.armstrongtools.com/catal...p?groupID=1160 . The Links that Ray came up with are the same. I have two of them, they are not a really good fit, but they are usable. The nearest Standard T-Nut is ones for a 9/16" or 14mm Table Slot and they would have to be modified - the modification would then allow the stud to pass right through the T-Nut.
Wheel Studs is not a bad Idea if there is anything available that can be reduced to 24mm across at the Head. T-Nuts is an option there is a bit of work involved though. I think I could make T-Bolts that I am after easier than I could make the T-Nuts. I don't have heaps of attatchments for it so I don't need many. I haven't had any Replys yet to the Emails, If I don't hear anything by Midweek I guess I will be making them. I just had a thought the Herless BM-450 is the same as the Hafco TC-450 which is no longer stocked. I will Email Hare & Forbes and see if they might have any left in their Spares Department, I doubt it but its worth a try.Last edited by steran50; 20th January 2012 at 09:10 PM. Reason: Hare & Forbes
