Anybody know what these are called?
I've been googling until my eyes hurt , trying different combinations of words, etc and I can't find any. "Pliers", "forceps", "long nose"....
These are my favorite hand tool ( is that weird?...lol ) and I want to repair these or replace them. I think Telecom techs used to be issued with them.
They are made in Sweden and have 'PA-88" stamped on them.
I found some a few years ago, and do you think I can remember how I found them?...not a chance. Hope some one can help.
Steve

Tweezers
G'day,
We at Telecom, Telstra, would just order them as tweezers. They were predominately used back when all the switching gear was analogue and you would have a few thousand wires to terminate on small vertical flat wire posts. They were used in conjunction with a sploger. Now try to find out what a sploger is.
Cheers Bruce

Splodger = locker / filing cabinet / coms cabinet master key
Steve, as your tweezers have the removable spring strap, you can replace the broken one with a section of heavy cable tie.
Just cut a piece to the length of the old strap plus about 5mm and use a soldering iron to melt a bit of a blob on each end.
Clip this back in place of the old one and you'll be good for another twenty years.
Cheers,
Greg.
