it would seem nobody gives a rats ass that your site has been infiltrated by somebody who represents the "other side" if the equation
no replies yet
oh and i do realise that anything i comment on will always be seen as bias from this point on once somebody guesses who the "major" i work for is

HI Again,
With your Reply Saying 'the other side of the equation'. I think My Guess was wrong. I would Say that You Work for the Brisbane Branch of 'Hare and Forbes Machinery House'. Well if I am right, it doesn't bother Me at all. You have every right to be a Member of this Forum.

10 gold stars for stewart, spot on the money.
im glad to see one person thinks i can still be a part of this forum.
at the end of the day, i only stumbled across it when looking for a customer who was a little upset about something he purchased and mentioned he seeked guidance from a website, so I went looking for website so when i next spoke to him I was armed with all the information required, including opinions from others as he had actively looked for other input before calling us and in his words "to keep us honest"
happy to say that issue was resolved with happy customer.
happy to address anybody's issues with our gear, as long as its widely known i will be doing this in my time (checking for issues) and then replies will be forthcoming through normal business practice (I will resolve during business hours).
Also as long as its known I am not the owner nor director nor manager of any Hare and Forbes store, i will act within the boundaries of what I can.
we have warranty guidlines which I will not make public. we also have the opinion that if there is an issue with our equipment, whether it be machine or user, we will do as much as we can to assist the end user as is practicable.
if we can explain something over the phone we will, if we deem it necesary to send somebody out we will.
I will be happy to deal with any issue regarding our stuff and do as much as company policy will allow

maccas- nope, never, the local pizza joint in Mitcham, Melbourne yes.
113 posts in 10 months, bob you have researched well.
no it isnt an infiltration as such, but bob you have posted on some threads that i have also posted, and did you suspect at that time I worked for H&F.
yes, infiltration is a big word for a little contribution but you know, trying to stay incognito and unbiased means if you go over the top somebody would have picked it up and pointed me out earlier.
but it isnt all bad, yes I work for H&F and Consider me to be an open line of communication to H&F via the forum.
I will be as open as company policy and warranty guidelines allow, and on occasion I will seek advice from management before replying
oh and yes, i am a qualified fitter and turner with 7 years factory work and 5 years site work national and international so on those threads where i have expressed an opinion about how to do something i did know what i was talking about. it is mostly maintenance fitting that i have done, but i have had my fair share of machining to go with it, along with hydraulics, pnuematics and some cnc work.

No, but it doesn't worry me who any member works for on this site. An indication of the degree to which members wish to assist others, and their knowledge and skill is quickly revealed by their contributions and is really all that matters. Unlike a lot of other hobby websites, it's what a member says and the pictures they post that builds a member's credibility, not who they work for. Who they work for might come out in a member's general opinion patterns and the odd comments here and there, if one wished to analyse them, but IMHO they aren't worth chasing up.
Do you expect your contributions to change now that you have revealed where you work?

no bob i do not expect my contribution to change in as far as what knowledge i have and what i have an opinion of.
i do not mind who knows where it is i work and what i do for work.
i did however state where and who i work for as an open line of communication to this company, and in matters that directly relate to the operation, service etc of H&F i will seek guidance where necessary and hopefully come up with a solution suitable to all parties, provided all parties are reasonable in their request.
i am not seeking instant "credibility" from any one person or entity in any way, shape or form.
I do not expect to be held in high regard just because I work for H&F, nor do I expect the masses to kneel before me.
If somebody disagrees with an opinion of mine they can bloody tell me.

Well brisbane fitter - maybe you can help me with the question i posted here during the week:
https://www.woodworkforums.com/f65/how-use-dro-109370/
I bought one of these during the H&F annual sale and mine came with no instructions. Sure I could go back to H&F but it is a long drive and i thought it would be easier to ask on these forums. Someone must have one afterall.

So far my only critism of H&F is the instruction manuals that come with the equipment that is sold there. I know crappy manuals are hardly confined to H&F, especially when it comes to Chinese stuff. I also realise as an employee there is only so much one can do.
Perhaps if enough people voice there concerns on this (trying to be optimistic here) then this can only improve over time.www.lockwoodcanvas.com.au
I will never be the person who has everything, not when someone keeps inventing so much cool new stuff to buy.
From an early age my father taught me to wear welding gloves . "Its not to protect your hands son, its to put out the fire when u set yourself alight".

H&F Manuals are useless as i discovered, not that i need help using the machine, but other things like specs and service procedures.
