Problem with CTC Tools
Dear All
I placed an order with CTC tools in Hong Kong for some reamers and stuff on the 9th June and paid with paypal. I had read on this forum somewhere about others being happy with them. I haven't anything since about the order. I have emailed them 3 times and sent a message via ebay where they also reside. The order status still states "ordered".
Has anyone else had any problems?
When should I start to try and get my money back via paypal?
It's only ~$60 woth of stuff but still it annoys me.Terry B

Hello Terry,
I purchased three collet chucks and a bunch of collets from CTC a while back and the the delivery was sluggish, around three weeks. Hold out a bit longer. Some of these sellers aren't flash at communicating.

There was recently a thread on thisforum about CTC tools. The consensus was that he was usually very prompt, but had become intermittent on comms recently. It was literally only a month or two ago so you should be able to find it if you want more info.

I bought some stuff off him about a week ago, communication took a couple of days sometimes, he said he was busy moving his warehouse.
Hope all goes well.

I think you may be confusing CTC with CDCO - see here https://www.woodworkforums.com/f65/cdco-118714/.
... or possibly I'm the one confused.Cheers.
Vernon.

I ordered some things a Thursday week ago , then realized I bought the wrong length edge finder. I messaged him strait away and he returned my email with a new invoice with in a few hours.
Then on Monday I noticed my order had not been shiped on his site so I asked if I could add something small to the order, he replied the next day that the order had been shipped last week.
I got an email yesterday saying my order had been shipped yesterday? and gave me a tracking number.
So he is answering emails, but I am mixed when he actual sent my order. I could have done with the other small thing I needed sent with this order, but will now have to wait until the next one now.

I ordered $300 worth of goods from him several weeks ago and it all turned up OK..
I wish they would stock 1,2,3 blocks and V Blocks... The prices in AU are ridiculous.. I am going to have to get some from the US I think...

Hi RC,
Maybe if we all ask him he will start stocking them? 25x50x75 blocks would be nice so would 50x100x150mm ones.
I agree the prices for them over here are ridiculous over here, I have thought about buying them myself from the US myself as I have seen them over their really cheap.

I have sent 3 emails with no reply at all. I wonder if Bigpond is blocking any reply as spam.Terry B

I have made a dozen purchases from CTC over the last 2 years and always recieved my order within 2-3 weeks..Postage is slow from them, But always well packaged and of reliable quality....I also use eBay Australia Store ? onelineseller: Search results for.
The postage from them seems to be a little faster, The quality is the same as are most of the products.
Sometimes I wonder if they are the same supplier???

I have dealt with CTC on a number of occasions before and actually found them really good to deal with and very prompt, hopefully you get your stuff soon.

For ~$30 Aus you can get a set of 123 blocks from this seller delivered.
Some time back I got a decent set of 8 pair of 1/2 inch thick parallels here for less than $100 Aus delivered.
I use CTC quite a bit and they are slow on delivery and can be high on freight but they have always produced the goods and their pricing is hard to beat.
I stocked up on end mills recently buying 5's and 10's of quite a few sizes and the freight just kept climbing. I queried the freight and Heine said there was a web page problem and kindly adjusted the freight on the invoice. He said to do the same on new orders so keep that in mind if you are buying multiples in the one order.Cheers,
Rod

My order just turned up. It was sent on the 18 and turned up on the 29th so thats 11 days. This parcel is only small though at 40 grams, so it might have been posted differently than something heavier.
