    Question Foundry supplies around Perth?

Does anyone know of a foundry suppliers around the Perth area? I've googled me lil heart out with no joy.

I'm trying to break into casting and need someone to get green sand from. If necessary I'll order in from East, but I'd prefer local.

    Darce,

Why don't you just ring a small foundry like Eccles in Bayswater (9370 5955) and ask them who their sand supplier is?

Unfortunately they, or any other of the foundries I've tried, no longer use greensand and I don't have the werewithal to use resin bonded sands. It's starting to look like I may have to use beach sand

    Hi Darce,

See if you can find some Petrobond, much better than making your own.

I bought mine from CMS in Melb, they got bought out since the last lot I bought, but I see they have a listing for Perth

    CAST METAL SERVICES
    21 ISABELLA CRESCENT
    WA 6152 PERTH-MANNING , WESTERN AUSTRALIA

    Phone: +61(8) 9450 7277

If you **really** want to make you own green sand, be sure to get foundry grade bentonite and of course you have to build a muller.. tricky to get good results.

    Petrobond gives a great finish.

    Regards
    Ray

PS.. I thought you guy's over there had more sand than the rest of Australia combined...
