Need Some Help Please
Hi all you metal workers
I have put a post in scale model builders section
https://www.woodworkforums.com/f201/s...ilding-146053/
I was wondering if there is any one here with a Siege model 3 lathe or Siege model 4 if you have a look at the hypertext you can see what I am about.
Aussie has put in a post on the C3 which has helped me greatly but I would appreciate some more feedback on things I have a larger lathe HF model CQ6230A that I am happy with but do not like turning wood on it because the saw dust gets into things and it takes me ages to clean down and re oil and I would like a smaller lathe for the model work I know there would be limitations with the a smaller machine but other than obvious things like the size of the motor and nylon drive gears on the C3 are there short falls or good point that you can think of that may be of some help.
I know that the C4 appears to be at the top of the tree with all its power and the way it’s constructed as opposed to the C3 but the C3 is under a thousand and the C4 is closer to two thousand dollars. Hope you can help ColbraMay your saw stay sharp and your nails never bend

Hi Colbra,
Sorry I don't have a Sieg Lathe, but I remember someone asking about C3's, try a seach, and you might get lucky and find the relevant thread.
Regards
Ray

Thanks Bryan & Ray for your input to my question, regarding the Sieg lathe I have a had a look around the internet and decided to buy the Sieg 4 lathe it seems to be very popular and it still suits what I want.
So I went down to Carbatec in Sydney to day and bought one it was the last one they had and it was off the shelf got a good price.
Maybe there might be more people on the forum with this model and there may be a bit more feedback on that particular lathe although the sales rep did say the M3 was the bigger seller any way thanks again
