    Cool Hidden Ebay Gems

Have been browsing the flea bay for a bit now and continue to do so hunting around the odd bargain here and there. I'll endeavour to post them all here for anyone else that might be interested. Will try to focus on a slightly different category each week. .

    (Apr 9-15 2007)
    Measuring & Markout Tools

Vintage Draughtsmans Tools Currently at $21.50. Auction end at 12-04-07 8:24PM. AEST
Would be good if you've yet to convert to AutoCAD or are doing projection drawings for a profile grinder.

Pen Type Scriber /w Carbide Tip Currently at $4.99. Auction end at 12-04-07 12:55AM AEST.
Seller in UK, so PayScum, er Pal, will apply. Very handy to have one of these in your pocket next to a texta and steel ruler.

Mitutoyo 0-1" Digital Micrometer Currently at reserve of $100.00. Auction end at 15-04-07 1:48PM AEST
Mitutoyo Digital Mics generally go for about $250 new. This one's a couple of years old, but appears in as new condition. Will have an imperial spindle, however the digital scale can convert to metric. Good for a micron reading.

    Mitutoyo 300mm Digital Vernier Caliper
Currently at $10.00. Auction end at 17-04-07 12:59AM AEST.
Very reliable calipers. Have two sets at work in regular use inside of a filthy carbide covered toolroom. Can't kill the things. A great bargain if you can muscle the other guy out at the last moment.

K'ofer Imperial Dial Guage (Plunger Type) Currently at reserve of $30.00. Auction end at 17-04-07 7:44PM AEST.
.001" graduations (25.4 micron), so not really of use to anyone playing with tight tight tolerances, but would be quite at home for clocking up a vice on a hobby mill. Wouldn't pay a cent more than the reserve, given the graduations, however.

Mitutoyo Magnetic Indicator Stand Currently at $30.00. Auction ends at 17-04-07 11:04PM AEST.
Would pay up to $50. Extremely handy to have one of these kicking around, even if you only use it once or twice a month.

Moore & Wright Inside Micrometer 3-8"
Currently at $0.99. Auction ends at 18-04-07 7:23PM AEST.
Would pay up to $30. Imperial divisions, but if they can be picked up cheaply, it'd be worthwhile.

Owning a GPX250 and wanting a ZX10 is the single worst experience possible. -Aside from riding a BMW, I guess.

You can get something similar by buying a carbide tipped tile "cutter" It is like a scriber for use on ceramic tiles
    Kind Regards
