I'm impressed with your interest in metal work and look forward to further restoration installments. At 15 I think I was still blunting my father's tools, so you are way ahead of the game. As others have said, restoring old equipment is an excellent way of learning how these things are made and work.
If you need any mods or repairs done that need to be done on a larger machine (something that you or your mates can't manage on the machines you have access to), please sing out as also being Adelaide based I may be able to assist. (Proviso - as you are under 18, your parents will need to be involved in any arrangements)
Michael
PS - TLC. Short for "Tender Loving Care". It usually means carefully cleaning, fixing up and in general being nice to the machine, but occasionally can be used in a sarcastic way in which case there is usually a hammer involved.
