T.N.C. Model Lathe
Bumped into an old friend who asked me if I want to buy on old model lathe for $20.00.
Its a T.N.C. Lathe which is a copy of the English Adept Lathe, handed over the $20.00 and I have a nice little project in the future cleaning it up and giving it a paint so I can mounting it as an ornament for the study.
Regards,
Keith.

Well done Keith, have been trying to pick up parts or a complete Adept lathe for some time without any luck.
If you want to part with it I am interested.

Interesting that Tony at www.lathes.co.uk mentions that "Although the background to the T.N.C. Company is not known (though they were known as a maker of engineering tools) the lathe was either imported from the United Kingdon or built under licence as a replica of the Super Adept . . . . It is just possible that the lathe was an early product of Hercus, with the name acting as a suitable disguise." All the best with a fitting resurrection.

The Adept.
Hi Keith,
I've had an " Adept " for a few years now, so I must get it out & get it going.
I have a Singer Motor & Foot Peddle from a Singer Sewing Machine.
I'm thinking it will have enough power to run it.
I paid $60 for mine at an Auction, & I have 2 small Independent Jaw Chucks. 3in. I think.Regards,
issatree.
Have Lathe, Wood Travel.

I have not been able to find a little chuck suitable for my Adept lathe, it is a nice little conversation piece but not quite in the same class as that TNC complete with matching reduction pulley etc! That is a very nice example.
