    Thanks kody for such a informative blow by blow description i have done a little thread cutting on metal lathes and am tackling an acme thread for the crosslide on my lathe and the hardest thing i find is grinding the hss to the correct shape and not only grinding the shape but acually being able to see it as it is only less than a 1/16 of an inch I am well on the way so will post some pics when the job is done but couldnt describe how to do it

    John get off the high horse please. Pipeclay was asking a question and as he is a bloke who does this as his trade I believe the question is a valid one. Nowhere did he naysay it, only posed a question that might be answered by someone who has used one.
