Who has a Sieg Super X3 mill?
Do you have a Sieg Super X3 mill? I would be more than interested in your comments as Sieg seem to have quite a good reputation.
My plan is to purchase one, then in the near future, convert it to CNC. Have you gone down this path?
If you are thinking of upgrading your SX3, please send me a PM. Have placed a wanted ad in the MARKET PLACE section of this Forum.

This is unbelievable, not one member has a Sieg SX3 mill!
Looks like I'm gunna be the first.
Have read mixed reports, in particular the rigidity of the column. As I understand it, the SX3 differs from the X3 having a stronger motor, belt drive, and the ability to tap holes with forward and reverse buttons.
I appreciate that all these desk top mills have limitations, horses for courses.
Any clues as to where best to buy a small mill. It seems I have only two choices, Hare & Forbes, and Carba-tec. Both want the same money $2189. Who provides the best after sales service? Who is most likely to throw in some tooling?

You might want to take a quick look again at Carba-tec.
Small Milling Machine : CARBA-TEC
Also I think their web site inculdes GST in their prices.
Might save yourself $400
(I havent looked anywhere else so I dont know how cheap $1789 is)
As far as doing a "deal" at H&F I wanted to buy about $1500 of lathe accessories and was told they couldnt move on the list prices.

Hi Stustoys,
I'm looking at the SX3, an upgraded version of the X3. Unfortunately, Carba-tec don't seem to list it on their website, only the X3. Looks like a phone call is necessary.
I have noted your comments about H&F, but to be fair, I'll give them the opportunity to see if they will deal.
