I read this and thought "woodstove??" then read your location. You're up there freezing and we are down here sweltering. I'm on holidays and its too hot to do anything outside, so I've been wasting my days off in the air con.

I just went outside (5.10pm) to find its cooled off a fair bit now. I didn't take any thermo readings but I reckon it would have been in the high 30's C earlier, maybe even low 40's.

woooo, that's hot, it doesn't even get that hot here in the summer. Usually mid to high 20's.

Apparently it was about 39C here yesterday. We don't get many really hot days over summer. maybe 10 -15. The up side is we don't have cold winters. might get about about 10 nights where it will get down to maybe -1 or -2 C. But thats only during the night. I see pictures of the winters in your part of the world and I still can't get my head around how you cope with the cold. I've only ever seen snow once in my life and that was when I was a kid. That was a 2 day drive down to the mountains.

Hope you winter is not too severe
    regards

Its just like the heat, you get used to it. But here where I am on the west coast it's not near as bad as the rest of Canada. Most of the winter is above freezing, most years we don't get any snow, so far this year there has been no snow. I love it here though.
