Hi Stu.
There are many free .amr to .wav file converters on Google. Just wack the file in and let us worry about it.
Is it in stereo, 3D, full dynamics?

I wont be able to upload it with a .amr extension.... I could just rename it but that would be naughty.
Guess I'll have to find one.
It recorded on my phone

Online convertors, now thats pretty cool(assuming they can be trusted)
0-10seconds radio on station with VSD on but no output, you can hear a little pulsing.
11-20s spindle on.
21-31s spindle off, radio moved off station
32-38 spindle on
39- spindle off

Hi Stuart,
That sound sample was AM radio I'm guessing.
I just checked the Teco FM50 on the HM52 Mill, unshielded motor wiring, about 10-15 ft from radio, with the radio tuned to the local FM station, no noticable interference.
Nothing from the Danfoss drive on the lathe either.
If I get a chance later I will drag a spectrum analyser from the electronics workshop into the main workshop and have a closer look at what it's radiating.
Regards
Ray

Hi Stu,
You could have at least picked a decent radio station.
"Haven't youse guys heard of internet radio? I'm listening to NPR from Bu-Fu Arkansas right now. Billy-Bob and Zim-Bob* are discussing grits even as I write", as quoted by the Chairman of the Board.

Hi Bob,
Preferably, just for mechanical protection against damage, as much as the shielding that it would provide, so it depends on where the wires go and how likely they are to get crunched during normal usage.
Probably a circuit as well as photos would help, the control and power conduits will come into the enclosure via seperate conduits, and it's usually just a matter of taking a little care when routing the wires around the switchboard.
Regards
Ray

Hi Ray
Yes it was AM at about 4ft. It seemed to have little to no effect on FM. I'll try increasing the range tomorrow.
Ken I'll have you know thats a classic lol

Ken, back in the 70's when I flew the night mail from Windsor, Ont to Toronto in a plane identical to my avatar (C-45) I'd crank the ADF receiver over to KNBC in New York. Disco mostly back then. Smoking cigs with a foot up on the sub-panel, radials droning away. BeeGees cutting though the noise. The prospect of getting back home before eleven and then quick like a bunny to the the local bar to try and cut a filly out from the herd. I've been a radio guy ever since. This internet caper is fantastic-The West Coast sound in the shop, ABC/CBC/BBC elsewhere, and rural radio from around the world as the mood strikes.
Bu-Fu is actually a Texan term, meaning exactly what you think it means when you pronounce it right. I had a girlfriend from Austin back then. She threatened me once with "I will beat you like a red-headed step-child". I am still giggling over that lo these many years later.
I did a little lathe work on my friend's Rivett 608 today. What a tool! It's a throwback to be sure, but it is so sweet to use. (Although it was like taking a Duesenburg for a drive...fun, but fixing a crash maybe not so much)

Well, how's the Chairman of the board, this fine night? Still throbbing?
I must be as qhique as a brique, "Bu-Fu", "red-headed step-child", "Rivett 608"?
I know it's off topic, but it's Friday tomorrow, I phink.
Edit: Just looked up Rivett 608. Very impressive.
