At least she didnt do what my SWNBO did, it had taken me several months of weekends to make my new kitchen benchtops because I recycled a heap of jarrah bearers then laminated them up into the top... it took yonks.
The day I put it all inside the house so I could clean up the shed to do the spray job SWMBO decides to cook some fish in a frying pan... can you guess what happened... I wasnt happy at all especially since I told her earlier that day not to even go near the raw unfinished but lovingly sanded bench tops!
It took 2 days solid of hand planing and sanding to correct it again, not too mention all the epoxy filling I had done needed redoing... an extra 3 weeks it put me behind!

    Try this.

    (1) Don't take any crap...ever,
    (2) Lay down the law,
    (3) Make it quite clear who runs the show,
    and lastly, and most importantly,
    (4) Regular beatings.

That's what SWMBO does to me, and we get on just fine.
Of course I'm brave, I'm afraid of NO man, and only a few women.

Is the pesticide harmful to mammals? or humans? The really toxic stuff requires a license nowadays....... When I was young we used to spray the bloody vegetables before we cooked them and that was when we grew them in the middle of the road!! Seriously, you will find that the dosage required of the active ingredients to harm humans will be pretty high. Insecticides are becoming more targetted all the time. I would still wash everything first.

Be gentle with the boss, good ones are hard to find. Id suck up big time if I were you. Of course you may need to go timber shopping to find some nice "(insert relevant timber of lust here)" to make some nice new chopping boards.
