Such a shame. Sam Maloof was someone that I've read a lot about and who inspired me in my short woodworking hobby thus far. Sad to see him go.

Off to the great shed in the sky. RIP Mr Maloof, you've become a legend.

Sam Maloof gone
I hope all you rocking chair makers noticed that Sam Maloof passed away on the 27 May last week at the age of 93. The man just inspired me more than I believed possible. As far as I'm concerned the world is worse for his passing but better for what he gave us as a craftsman and as a humble human being. Any rocking chair I make from now on will celabrate his memory.
