I dare say you watched the Video. He used very little Glen20.
My Baking Soda & Water works well for me.
This is the CA glue that I use. It has the consistency of water.

    Thin CA 50ml

I use white paper towel - you should watch the rest of the videos that I have made - http://www.timberbits.com/videos.html

Watch "Step 6 . Applying 20 thin coats of CA as a finish." Its covered in that video.

[QUOTE=timberbits;1375695]Don't stop and MM each layer, keep going all the way through to 20 then MM.

Hi David. Yes, I do it the same method as you, 20 coates of thin CA then when finished all 20 coates of CA I then MM through the variouse grades to get a high gloss finish. But as the CA was being sanded down by the MM, it was obviouse the white smudges were right through all the layers of CA that had been applied. I used the Glen20 in very small short bursts as I do with the Mitrefix, (same method as you). I used the "Country Scent" Glen20. Maybe there is a difference in chemistry from the "Original Scent" ??. Buggered if I know ha ha. I'll have another go with it during the week. Cheers to all.

My wife has a can of aerosol water in her handbag. I might have to swipe it and give it a try.

Water does set it off, but be warned, it can also turn it white!

Got a bunch of blanks ready to turn this weekend, so I will give the Glen20 another try. This time I will use the original scent, as I used the Country scent on my first effort, and I was left with a very frosty, but super glossy blank after Micro Meshing at the end of 20 Coates of CA. Sure hope this Glen20 is a goer, as David has discontinued Mitrefix from his stock.
    I never forget anything I remember !!

I gave the Glen20 a go yesterday. I finished 2 blanks, the first one I think I was too heavy with spraying, and ended up with white frosting contained in the finish, which cant be sanded out. It will have to be sanded right off and start again.
The second one, I gave the spray shorter bursts and less of them, it was a lot better, but still seems to have a milky spot on one end.

I will give it another try, maybe with less spray again and see if its any better.

Decided I was tired of the cantilevered thumb grip on a pair of scissors I use in the shed so I hit it with CA, Was setting fast enough for me so I grabbed the Glen 20, shook the daylights out of it and sprayed.

Success! instant grab and hold but the finish was cloudy. Not that that matters.

I was still posting on the other thread Glen 20 vs Mitre Fix Sierra's. I have not really had any success with Glen 20. Too high a chance of getting white spots that require the blank to be entirely sanded back. I also tried water without any real success. I am going to try dipping as an alternative and if that doesn't work I will just have to source Mitre Fix. It is more expensive but it gives the results everytime. I guess you get what you pay for

The only issue for pen turners is that it is not instant and it looks like you have to put the glue on one surface and the pen on the other?
