    Default Big band

Got a good quality spindle gouge at the show, and just had to try it out. I don't know what the wood is, it was loose, and unlabeled, in my pen stuff box. The kit is a big band kit, which is basically a slimline with a bigger band.

The chisel was a pleasure to use. Unfortunately, I hit a cavity on the clip end. I ended up reversing the pen (mentally), turning away the hole and then making it part of the design.

I really like the thicker band, and the shape you can develop with it, as apposed to the wasp shape. Is there anyone anywhere, that sells bands as a separate part?

They are a nice pen to turn Chris, I know that CSUSA sell different bands and clips but can't remember if they sold that type though.
