    Hi Les in Red Deer

Congratulations mate, a very good example of you easy, economical and effective some organization and planning can achieve, very professional indeed...!

I can't thing of a better gift to a rifle hunter or a rifle target shooter, then a rifle bullet pen, particularly, if that person shoots the caliber the pen casing was made of!

Obviously, for American and Canadian folks, deer antlers (general antler material), have much more significance than for us here in Australia, for obvious reasons, but those are just magnificent!

For us here, pens made out of Ironbark, Gidgee, and off-course Gum of some sort, (burled or not), are the norm. I wonder, when someone here start to make pens out of "lamb chops", solidified "snags" and why not, some stabilized onions...! . And about kangaroo bones and or skin? we got plenty...!

What I can't understand and or accept is why in hell, are bullet pens not allowed to be imported into Australia? Where is the regulation where it states that? what is the danger on a empty rifle case with it's "gut's" drilled to the $h!t house, and a piece of bone? Hold on, hold on... did anyone in Australia invented a weapon (firearm) capable of "firing" hand made bullet pens?

I reckon, humans are going mad, and going too far with pure stupidity! Can't people distinguish anymore in between justified caution and being totally ridiculous?

This issue of importation or exportation limitations of these type items really get's up my nose really bad...! and I'm not prepared to accept hat people can be that stupid so Les, how much would it cost to have one of those pens sent to me? Please provide that and other relevant info through PM, and I will take care of it from here!

I can understand if you don't have any spares at the moment, but I would appreciate if you could do me one, so that I can prove some people wrong!

    Cheers

Embedding's not the problem, it's having a stable material to drill through that's the issue.

Well it seems you don't need a licence to buy shells with no primer , I walked into a gunshop in brisbane ,no license no questions ,the shells were bagged in 50s got some .308 for bullet pens, I also got some bullet pen kits from the USA no problems ,I also post them all round australia ,still no problems ,it may be against the law to own a gun without a license but seems the rest is fair game . Then again I may have just been lucky all those times hehe, Cheers John.
And yes it seems common sense is very "uncommon" lol
G'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

You don't need a gun license to buy unprimed rifle shells, and any type projectile you wish, no problems there, regardless of where you are (State)!

Gees guys, old and not so old buffalo horns I found everywhere in the NT. There dozens of people in Howard Springs and Humpty-Doo alone, that have them hanging everywhere, they never were treated or anything, buffalos were shot for meat and the horns here cut off, if they were of any decent size. I did come across lots of carcasses with horns still attached to the head.
I had plenty of big ones that I sold before I left Darwin (NT) I only kept one small set from a young buffalo (about 2 years old), that I mounted with wild donkey skin, back black cross stripe.

One of the few trophies that I still have today!
And no, I'm not going to cut it...!

    Cheers
