Default Can CA accelerator go off?

    Hi,
Over the weekend I was finishing a pen with CA and accelerator. After application of the accelerant it was still tacky. I tried more / less of the accelerator but it didn’t seem to make any difference. If I left it for a longer than normal time (minutes) it would stop being sticky. I then could apply the next coat.
If I tried to apply the next coat before it dried it would grab little bits of the paper towel and the pen looked like it had dandruff.

It was a lovely day here in Perth, sunny around 30 and low humidity if that can make a difference.
Anyway long winded way of asking if I need to buy more / different accelerator or master the art of patience?
    Thanks
    Pete

Haven't heard of Accelerator going off but CA does go off, I actually threw out 2 bottles of the Hot Stuff Thin CA yesterday as it wasn't drying properly
    Cheers

Do a test of the CA using some sodium bicarbonate/baking soda from the kitchen - that should kick off inside a few seconds. If it doesn't...blame the CA!
