Cebloplast kitless fountain pen.
This is a swap pen I made on another forum. Barrel and cap are cebloplast with the section of black acrylic. Nib is a Schmidt #5, fine point I think. I picked that nib and section because it can be unscrewed and replaced with a Schmidt rollerball tip. I provided one along with a cartridge converter and a package of Private Reserve cartridges. As this is my 6th kitless it doesn't have a clip,,,,,,, but #7 will. Sanded to 400 or 600 grit (who remembers? ), 0000 steel wool and then buffed with the Beall system. Capped the pen is approximately 15cm, uncapped 13cm, weight 19 grams with empty converter, and the barrel to cap thread is a 12mm triple start.
Critique is welcomed.

Beautiful work and photography I still find that a pen without a clip just seems unfinished somehow ,cheers ~ John

Hello Pete
That is a lovely pen. The Kitless pens have a clean, even a sleek look about them.
Thanks for sharing.
Cheers Gerry

Very very nice pen. Is it hard to add a clip?

Thank you all for your complements.
Adding a clip isn't hard. It is a few more steps to do when making a pen so as I develop my skills I add another refinement each time. I held off on the clip while I got more comfortable with the other parts of the pen. After some pens with clips I'll play with adding metal accent bands. I like to take a few baby steps at each stage rather than try to do it all in one jump.

Good point Pete.
A question - Do you use a metal lathe to make the thread. I was wondering if it was possible with a tap and die set by hand or does it need to be more refined.

I did the drilling on a metal lathe and the shaping on a wood lathe. All the threads were with taps and dies. Feed to section was 6.4 x .5mm (most feeds require a proprietary tap as this one did). Section to barrel is 3/8 x 24 UNF (used what I have and will get 8, 9, & 10mm x .75 taps and dies soon). Barrel to cap is 12 x .8 mm triple start but a 12 x 1 or .75 single start will work nicely and be a lot cheaper to start with. Someday I may cut the threads with the metal lathe but for now the taps and dies work nicely. Those baby steps are far down the road.
