A couple from a newby
I have only been turning pens for a few months now and thought I would post a couple after admiring all those fantastic ones I see here.
Finish is 20 coats of CA, sanded to 2000 grit, and polished with Brasso and then McGuires.
All advice gladly received.

Very nice
Any chance of getting you to describe how you applied the finish in detail

That's a couple of great looking pens. The finish is flawless
There's a great tutorial by DJ in the tuitorials section on applying CA. I followed it and it works very well.
Cheers,
Dave

I agree with Dave. DJ's tutorial describes it well and there is also another one on the Timberbits site. Both done very well and they are what I used for my guidance.

Thanks for all that info I'll check them out., I've been using all sorts of finishes but some don't seem to last. I'll give this a try and see how I go. Sounds like I'll have to be patient reading some of the comments

You go for it Ian. I put it off for a long time thinking it was too difficult. Made my first one and was hooked from then on. For a few dollars outlay it is great fun.
