Desert timber mix Slimline
This pen is for a lady, from the Queensland outback, from her niece for her 80th Birthday. The timber are all except one from the outback where she lived most of her life. In the Lower Barrel to break up the dark timbers a piece of Huon Pine to represent the their main trip away from the outback
The other timber are: Gidgee, mulga, ghost gum and pink conkerberry
The pen was polished to 12000MM and then brasso and PlasticX polish.

Nice Sam.
Do you do your segmenting on a Scrollsaw?
I treid to do some the other day, but my scrollsaw is going weird. The blade keeps twisting sideways as I cut, and trying to correct it just makes it bend more. It'd turn 90 degrees if I let in. I've used it to cut through thick wood before doing Intarsia, but now it's just going screwy. I haven't been able to pull everything apart to figure it out yet. I changed tactics and moved to the bandsaw, and bent a bandsaw blade, and smashed my table insert. My finger escaped with a nasty whack, but no blood loss. I've not been having a good machinery week.
