Help Needed
I am seeking someone in Australia who may be able to cast a pen blank using two specific colours. The colours are Blue (Royal Blue) and Red (Scarlet).
These are the corps colours of the Royal Australian Corps of Transport who is celebrating its 35th birthday in June. I would like to present a gift set of pens with the corps colours at a reunion in Adelaide on 4 June 2011. I am willing to buy 10 blanks in the initial purchase and maybe more later. The pattern can be random and not uniform providing there is a 50/50 colour mix.
Also I recently purchase a Wood Cut Pen Pro from Bruce at Wood N Workshop, I can honestly say that this tool is far superior to any other woodturning tool I have ever used to turn pen blanks.
Appreciate any help
Regards

Couldn't Bruce help you out?
I'm not in the business of casting blanks for sale, but probably could help you out if no-one else will. Would need to confirm colours though.
Another alternative would be to use cast labels, such as the attached possibly, just a thought.

Another vote for Bruce here. In fact, he may very well already have such a colour combination on the shelf already made.
"That's impossible. Nobody can give more than 100%. By definition that is the most anyone can give"

Daryl1 didn't have much luck, but not from lack of trying by others, so being a sucker to help fellow forumites out I cast a few. The blue in the photo looks a bit lighter than it is, it is a true Royal Blue. The red he wanted though was not the true Scarlet I had, it was more a bright red as in the photo, so lucky I did a trial. Settled on 8 large sized blanks, instead of 10, as my mold does 4 at a time.
I cast red blanks first, then sliced each one in half using the scrollsaw in a wavey pattern, followed by recasting with the blue. I think they look pretty good, looking forward to photos of the finished JR Gents.
The middle one is sanded and polished to see how it looked.
