    Default ID Help needed !

I picked up some bits of stuff at the Maleny wood fest on Sat. This bit is a mystery to me its about 10'' x 7" x 48mm thick , a few pen blanks to be sure
The pictures are both sides of the slab, and some blanks I cut off the end last night, couldn't wait to try them. One set of blanks has been lightly sprayed to show the color a bit better when finished, It is quite a hard wood and fine grained but the white sections a touch softer I think ,without trying to turn them, almost like a dry rot or something ,but still hard enough to work with. Should make some nice pens !

The person I bought it off did say the name, but by the time I got it back to the car I had forgotten it
I would hate to through this in my ever mounting "unknowns Box" hehe Cheers John!
G'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

Once you cut it up into the pen blanks it looks spalted. Very like some of the spalted bull oak I got from George. I'm not saying that's what it is, it doesn't look like it in the plank, but does in the blanks.

Go make a pen and show us
