Jack Daniels with a twist.
I got this blank from David at Timberbits a while back, when I started this pen I noticed something odd. I asked the question in another thread, and it was found the wooden wedges/nails were put in the staves to stop knotholes from leaking.
I have finally finished the pen, its a Rodium Jr Gent. Finished with CA and Glen20.

Brad the blanks turned into one classy pen, fit and form are great and finish is flawless. The wedges make it a unique pen. I have given the Glen 20 finish a go as well. Like you it took a few goes to get it right. I still run a bead of CA onto the paper towel and apply the old way. I find I can still use thin CA this way, have to use medium if I use David's drip method. Wish my Jack D blanks had a couple of wedges in mine. Top dollars for the pen mate.
Cheers
Darren

Great pen Brad . You certainly had a stroke of luck scoring that blank. I'm STILL battling with the damn Glen 20 thing. I just always end up with a white blotch or mark somewhere along the blank. Oh well, I still have one can of MitreFix left.

Glad to hear its working for you too darren.
I am liking the pour on method, I can get a good build up of thickness a lot quicker, no dought I will try to cut down the wastage I am getting at the moment. But I am happy with the end results.
Pariss I think I got lucky with this blank.
All I can say with the Glen20, is keep perservering, as it does work. My first couple of goes I was almost ready to can it and go back to my old way.
