    Default Lathe Trimming bit?

    Something new from Penn State Industries here

    Not sure what to think of the idea - if works would be better with a morse taper

    It would work, but only if you did not disturb the blank, remove it and reinstall it.
    I would think you could square up the end with a parting tool just as fast, if not faster.

    I think I will stick with the disc on my belt sander. It does a great job slowly squaring up after drilling and before turning. I would be a bit concerned this new tool could catch and rip the end of a blank. The blank needs to be squared up again after CA is applied and I copied an idea of dai sensei's and made my own tool for a couple of dollars.

    Looks like a router bit for planning bench tops. Be very interesting to see if they put up a vid of in use . . .
